12 Copies Of "Your Best Birth".....or A Giant Bitch Slap To My Face.

I have much to say about this (right now Holdyn is sleeping in the sling so I can't type too much), for now I just had to post that I mysteriously received 12 copies of "Your Best Birth" in the mail today...why? I have no clue. I will tell you though, it feels like a giant slap in the face, 12 times over.

Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth
Your Best Birth

OUCH!!! That fucking hurts!!!

I don't (personally or via blogging) know who the sender is (though I know what her name is, and what her address is via the packing slip) or why these were sent to me. I don't know what to do with them. I could read the book right? I know it will make me angry, so I don't think I want to go there.

By the way, there is no chapter about stillbirth via homebirth.

AND how did this person get my mailing address?

Are you serious? Who would do such a thing? I felt the slap in the face, so I can't imagine what you felt.
I am so sorry Erin.

Wow! Who would do that?
"This book makes planning your birth fun and easy"--yeah, except you don't really get to plan all of it do you.
I'm sorry somebody decided to bombard you with 12 of these.

You could read it. (Twelve times??)

You could read it and then send the author a letter. You could read it and send the author and the sender a letter.
You could put them on eBay and buy something useful with the cash, like toilet paper.

OR I can wipe my arse with every single page!

What the hell??? Have you googled the sender to figure out his/her deal? That is so beyond weird...it's downright mean--not to mention ridiculous. And also, really kind of creepy. I'm really sorry.

De-lurking to say this makes me infuriated and wanting to spit venom at whatever insensitive moron thought this was a good idea. Here, let me help you "recycle" those in the manner you suggested.

That is awful. What is even more awful is that more women will try homebirths with horrific outcomes. Makes me sad.

You could donate them to the library with your own written notes in the margins!

personally, I'd post the senders address on my blog

((mamma)) I'm sorry someone thought this was something right to do

I'm so sorry. It seems it must be a misunderstanding, I mean 12 of them?

Did someone think they were going to "enlighten" you so much you'd send it on to 11 of your closest friends.

Bizarre, and makes us all pause and remember that with enough devotion people can find out a lot about us.

ugh... I say bonfire?

WTF??? That is so creepy and slightly scary. Is it too late to write on the box "return to sender" or "wrong address"?

This is one reason that I hate the internets. An outlet for creepy people.

Wow...just, Wow. I don't know what to say except someone had really poor judgement or is an asshole.

BTW, I think you should consider writing a book Erin. About your story. Your births. Your babies. Write how many can educate themselves on all options, how they can prepare emotionally and spiritually for birth and death (is that even possible?), how they can support friends and family through a traumatic birth and/or death of a child, about birth after loss.

You know I'm a proponent of home birth but even MORE than that I'm a proponent of loving birth, in whatever environment a woman feels safe.

And as a doula, in 53 births, I sadly witnessed my first stillbirth. It was the best gift to hold her little baby, born at 32 weeks. Blessing. She was so perfect, just like your Birdie.

Writing a book is a pretty good idea. I think it would sell. You are a wonderful writer and I love your photos. Yes, I think it is a great idea.

Maybe they were hoping you'd read it and giveaway the other copies through your blog? I don't know. Weird, though.

You could read it and write your reactions to the book on here- whether you agree with what's in it or not.
